Inserting a Symbol

Symbols differ from images because they are inserted into a text box rather than as a separate object on a label. The list of symbols includes punctuation and other special characters, as well as a subset of the images. Once a symbol is inserted in-line with text, the symbol is treated like any other character.

• Use symbols rather than images when you want the image to be inserted inside a text box. Not all images are available as symbols.

To insert a symbol

1. Place the cursor in a line of text where you want the symbol to appear.

2. Under Insert Symbol on the Text formatting toolbar, select the symbol you wish to use.

   The symbol is inserted at the cursor position.
